This section features a list of projects I've worked on or am currently working on.
I host a video games/politics podcast with Dr Adam Cooper. We chat all things video games and politics, inviting guests to contextualise their work through games. Check it out!
Beginning in September 2025 and lasting for three months, I was grateful to work on the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee as part of the research team at the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) producing briefings for ministers, answering research enquiries from elected members, and writing articles for their website. Read more here and see my Senedd publications on the publications page!
Founded and chaired by Professor Cristina Leston-Bandeira, the goal of the International Parliament Engagement Network (IPEN) is to promote collaboration between academics and practitioners in the understanding of public engagement with parliament. The network brings together over 300 academics, parliamentary officials and third sector representatives from over 30 countries across the world. Working with the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU), I produced case studies on parliamentary engagement.
My work primarily focuses on video games and political engagement, looking particularly at online roleplaying spaces. My thesis aims to contribute to several debates, such as: how we understand political engagement; how video games might offer opportunities for political engagement; what the barriers are to engagement, particularly among young people; and, more practically, how institutions might use these insights to better engage people. I do ethnographic work in GTA V to explore elections, government structures and everyday politics.
